Pitlochry is a bustling small town at the very centre of Scotland. Set in scenic countryside, it's ideal for climbing, with nearby Ben Vrackie, 2,757 ft and Craigower, 1,300 ft. The Festival Theatre is open May - October and the Highland games are in September. Outdoor shows all summer. Visit the Dam and Fish Ladder, or catch some yourself in Loch Faskally or the River Tummel. Walk to the Pass of Killiecrankie, 4 miles.
