With its undulating fairways and small plateau greens you will find Swanston doesn't need length to provide the difficulty factor. The Hare Burn, which traverses the course through a beautiful little glade, provides a perfect natural hazard. Dating back to 1927, the club is set in the heart of Robert Louis Stevenson country, taking in the garden of the house where he lived, and a tree under which he used to sit. The inspiration for Long John Silver is all around. Formed by Miss Margaret Carsewell, with advise from first-rate green keeper, Herbert More, the course is always in pristine condition, throughout the year. 18 holes, 5,024 yards, par 67 (SSS 66)
