This beautiful Hebridean reserve with sandy beaches, rocky foreshore, marshes and sand dunes, is a stronghold of the rare corncrake. Many species of wading birds nest on the flower-rich machair and croftland. The reserve is home to the most northern population of corn buntings in the world. Arctic terns also breed here.
Good sea-watching point. Visitor centre with displays on the importance of traditional crofting agriculture for the corncrake and other wildlife. 3.5 miles of trails.
