The wet meadows (haugh) beside the River Clyde are the main feature of this small urban nature reserve. Some parts are permanently flooded, others flood in winter. Over 170 species of birds have been recorded here. You may see kingfishers by the river, teals, shovelers, gadwalls, ruddy ducks and water rails all breed here. In winter there can be up to 50 whooper swans, as well as pochards, goldeneyes, and other ducks.
Good viewing opportunities with four hides and two nature trails one of half a mile and the other 2 miles long.
