This amazing stately home includes a home within a house. The original house was built at the turn of the 18th century for the first Earl of Hopetoun by Sir William Bruce – the famous Scottish 20 years later this handsome building appeared not to have been grand enough. It was incorporated into a new palatial mansion, designed by William Adam.

The opulent interior includes a grand staircase with some of the finest wood carvings in Scotland. The State Apartments are superb with many notable paintings and tapestries. Around the house are 150 acres of grounds to explore with expansive lawns and a choice of relaxing walks.
