Loch Garten is famous for ospreys: you can see these spectacular birds at their nest and 'live' nest-side camera pictures are relayed to the Osprey Centre, where staff are on hand to explain what is happening. Binoculars and telescopes are available. RSPB shop.
In the rare Caledonian pine forest, special wildlife includes crested tits, Scottish crossbills and red squirrels. There are various trails through the nearby woodland.
