Set in a grade-A listed historic church, Tarbat Discovery Centre presents an internationally important archeological dig. The Centre displays wonderful carved Pictish stones, many for the first time, as it explores Scotland in the Dark Ages and the unfolding story fo the powerful Picts.
Here was an important monastic community; adjoining present-day Portmahomack, whose sandy beach and many traditional buildings make the ingredients for a perfect day out.
