This ancient deciduous woodland is one of the largest in Britain. It lies on a scenic peninsula overlooking Loch Sween and has an atmosphere all of its own. The woodland’s dripping ferns and mosses mingle with marshland and grassland to support over 300 plant species and more than 20 kinds of butterfly.
Look out too for the colourful marine life of the loch shores. Car park and way marked trail.
