Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s Highland home, will be the venue this summer for open air productions of The Wizard of Oz and Shakespeare’s As You Like It.
A temporary theatre is being erected near to Garden Cottage, where Queen Victoria used to take breakfast and write her diaries.
Garry Marsden, visitor enterprise manager Balmoral, said: “We are a five-star attraction and we are constantly looking at new ways to raise income.”
“This year we have a new photographic exhibition Wildland. The first performance of As You Like It will be on 28 June by the Festival Players Theatre. The Wizard of Oz by Heartbreak Production will be on 4 July. The audience will be limited on both occasions to 350.”
