Scotland’s biggest music festival T in the Park, at Balado just off the M90 near Kinross will be a three day event for the first time. It will run from Friday 6 July to Sunday 8 July.
Festival organiser Geoff Ellis said the word that sums up a T in the Park crowd is “passion”.
“You don’t get this atmosphere anywhere else in the world,” he said. “We are really pleased to be opening the arena on the Friday for the first time ever, although it’s only for those with a camping ticket.”
“Around three-quarters of the audience stay on the camp site, so it was decided it was time to offer them something special. It’s always been a three-day festival for those who were camping but now they’ve got something else to get excited about.”
Referring to the artists already confirmed to appear, he said: “The line-up is already particularly strong with four of the biggest bands in the world confirmed to headline. Both Arctic Monkeys and the Killers made their King Tut’s debuts just over two years ago, so it is amazing how quickly they have progressed.”
