For the first time in its 106-year history, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum will feature permanent daily musical performances.
Dr James Hunter has been appointed honorary musical director and will programme all music performed within Kelvingrove, schedule organists, and co-ordinate musical activities.
Lord Macfarlane, Chairman of the fundraising appeal for Kelvingrove, said: “It gives me great pleasure that this internationally significant organ will now be played 360 days a year.
Sponsorship for this programme has been arranged, and it is fitting that Scotland’s most distinguished organist has been appointed to this new position. While Edinburgh has its One O’Clock Gun, Glasgow will have a One O’Clock performance at Kelvingrove.”
