The Kingdom of Fife needs no introduction when it comes to the game of golf. This area holds a unique position in the annals of the game with St Andrews, the Old Course and the Royal and Ancient clubhouse at its symbolic heart.

The ‘Auld Grey Toon’, St Andrews, with its public links, university and cathedral, is a place of pilgrimage for golfers from all over the world.

But there is so much more in golfing terms to Fife than the Old Course. Kingsbarns, in only a few short years, has become one of the most favoured courses in Scotland, while the recently opened St Andrews Bay Resort, a mile or two further south, has two excellent courses.

Around the East Neuk or east corner of the county and along the shores of the Firth of Forth are a string of golfing jewels. King James IV remarked that Fife was a "Kingdom fringed with gold" referring to the then busy, trading sea-ports of the East Neuk. Today, it is a kingdom fringed with golf. Inland Fife must not be missed either.
