There are three good courses within easy reach of Fort William while the well known Traigh course on Arisaig is less than an hour away.
Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain, dominates this area. One of the most imposing views of the Ben is from the 9th hole at Fort William Golf Club. Fort William has come on well in recent years with good work on the greens and drainage. Spean Bridge Golf Club is a short 9-holes holiday course just north of Fort William.
They refer to Traigh Golf Course, near Arisaig, as ‘probably the most beautifully sited nine hole golf course in the world’. The views over to Rum and Eigg can be breathtaking and the course is well worth playing for any level of player. Another good 9-hole test is Dragon's Tooth Golf Club just across the bridge at Ballachulish and only a short drive from Fort William. There are several worthy holes here and again, ideal if you wish to combine a little golf with a visit to this spectacularly beautiful part of the Highlands.
