Loch Fishing
The most famous loch in the area is Loch Ness, which contains trout, charr and salmon, but there are lots of other super lochs such as Loch Ruthven and the collection known as the Whitebridge lochs including Killin, West and East Knockie, Bran and Nan Lan. On the other side of the Great Glen are the Glen Morriston hill lochs and a little further north in Strathglass there are lots more to choose from.

River Fishing
River Ness which flows through the centre of Inverness provides convenient and excellent salmon and trout fishing to visitors. Anglers here are renowned for their casting skill and it is a pleasure to watch and learn from them. This big river requires a 15ft rod and fishes best from July onwards.
The Ness drainage includes several rivers of note, the Morriston, Oich and Garry, famed for their early running spring salmon. The Beauly system includes the rivers Glass and Farrar, lovely fly fishing water amidst stunning scenery, best from July onwards. South of Inverness the River Nairn is a small water that can give great sport in a fining spate. It fishes best during late season.
