Golf in Inverness, Loch Ness & Nairn

Home > Where to Go > Regions > Inverness, Loch Ness & Nairn > Inverness, Loch Ness & Nairn - Get Active > Golf

There are many good golf courses in and around Inverness with the links course at Nairn being the most famous.

This compact area has several good venues. Nairn’s two quite different courses are both very worthy of your attention. Nairn Golf Club is one of the finest links in the UK. But do not bypass nearby Nairn Dunbar Golf, this is a heathland mixed with links and a very challenging test in its own right.

The Highland capital has three good 18-hole courses, the best being Inverness Golf Club, a fine parkland example, while nearby Loch Ness Golf Club is a very good outing. Torvean is the town’s municipal course but it is always in good condition and worth a round.

If you wander down Loch Ness in search of that reclusive underwater animal you might be advised to pack your clubs and spend more profitable time at Fort Augustus Golf Club, a quirky little track complete with grazing sheep but, apart from the greens which are strictly non USPGA spec, it is an exciting little challenge.
