Loch Lomond

Home > Where to Go > Regions > Loch Lomond, Stirling & the Trossachs > Loch of Islands

Loch Lomond and its many islands is best experienced from the water.

To get afloat you can go on a cruise, hire a boat or join the mail run from Balmaha. In summer the mail boat runs every day delivering the post to four of the islands. Among the unusual wildlife you may see are red-necked wallabies. They have lived on the island of Inchconnachan for many years and occasionally swim to the mainland.
