A small urban nature reserve beside the River Clyde with meadows, marshland and woodland. Over 170 species of birds have been recorded here. Two nature trails and four birdwatching hides.

Castle Semple Collegiate Church (HS)

Founded in 1504 by Lord Sempill, the church had seven priests to say masses for the family. Only a few years after building the church Lord Sempill was killed at the Battle of Flodden. His superb funerary monument is inside.

Clyde Valley Woodlands National Nature Reserve (SNH)

Steep gorges have protected this rich mix of ash, oak and wych elm from felling and grazing. Carpets of bluebells and primroses in spring. Warblers, flycatchers and redstarts breed here. Network of paths.

Crossraguel Abbey (HS)

Founded in the early 13th century, the remains of this Cluniac Abbey are remarkably complete and include the church, cloister and chapter house.

Lamington Church
|
|
Built into the wall of the present church is a fine Romanesque doorway of the original 12th century Norman church. The churchyard has a good collection of 18th century gravestones.
