This most unusual church was built in 1592. Square with a central tower it was thought that the design may have come from the Low Countries. The galleries inside have wonderful painted panels.
This attractive old burgh has three medieval streets with many fine 17th and 18th century townhouses. The handsome old tollbooth probably dates from the late 16th century. Its belfry was added in 1776.
This famous seabird sanctuary at the entrance to the Firth of Forth, holds one of Scotland's biggest colonies of puffins, and is excellent for migrant birds.
Built in the 12th century, Leuchars is one of the finest Romanesque churches in Scotland. Of the original church only the chancel and apse survive, the nave was added in the 19th century.
A small fishing village in the 'East Neuk' of Fife which dates from 1228. Pittenweem has the only working harbour left in the East Neuk, which used to be home to many fleets.
Overlooking the sea, this royal Castle was built from 1460 for Mary of Gueldres, Queen to James II. It is one of the earliest castles in Scotland, designed to be defended by and from artillery.
The fastest growing part of Scotland with sand dunes and heath, excellent for plants, an important roosting area for huge numbers of sea duck, waders and wildfowl. A good spot to see seals.
