Linking Grangemouth on the Firth of Forth to Bowling on the Clyde, the canal opened in 1790. It closed to freight traffic in 1962. At Bowling there is a basin, sea locks and a custom house.

Adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral, this spectacular cemetery is renowned for it's beautifully designed tombs and excellent views over the City. The Necropolis is modelled on the famous Pere La Chaise Cemetery in Paris.
This Roman fort has a well preserved bath house. Here the various elements: the hot, dry room; three steam rooms and hot bath; and the cold plunge bath can be clearly identified.
