Kinneil House (HS)
Kinneil House, Bo'ness, Falkirk
This handsome house was built in 1670 by Anne, Duchess of Hamilton. It was about to be demolished in 1941 when the original magnificent wall and ceiling paintings were discovered.

Pineapple
One of the oddest buildings in Scotland, the Pineapple was built in 1761 as the focal point of the walled garden of Dunmore Park. Pineapples may have once been grown in the adjoining hot house.

Westquarter Dovecot (HS)
This attractive early 18th century dovecote contains several hundred nesting boxes. It was part of Westquarter House, demolished to make way for a housing estate. In Falkirk off Polmont Road.

Cowane's Hospital
This delightful almshouse and hospital was built in the mid 17th century with funds bequeathed by John Cowane, a wealthy Stirling merchant. His statue can be seen over the entrance.
