Kinneil House (HS)

This handsome house was built in 1670 by Anne, Duchess of Hamilton. It was about to be demolished in 1941 when the original magnificent wall and ceiling paintings were discovered.

One of the oddest buildings in Scotland, the Pineapple was built in 1761 as the focal point of the walled garden of Dunmore Park. Pineapples may have once been grown in the adjoining hot house.
