Britain's highest mainland sea cliff, Clo Mhor rises to 283 metres. Holds large numbers of breeding fulmars, guillemots and razorbills plus one of the largest puffin colonies in Britain.
In a superb landscape, this reserve includes moorland, conifer plantations and some patches of Scots pine and birch. A long term aim is to gradually remove the plantations and restore the semi-natural woodland.
This handsome 13th century cathedral was burnt in 1570 by the Mackays of Strathnaver. It remained roofless until converted into a parish church in 1616. In the mid 19th century it was heavily 'restored'.
