It’s so easy to find interesting walks in the city. Follow the signposts by the Water of Leith, cross Arthur’s Seat to find a historic pub in Duddingston, walk in the footsteps of Robert Louis Stevenson on the Pentland Hills.

Edinburgh has one of the most extensive off-road cycle networks in Britain. Many of these are based on the trackbeds of the once extensive former suburban railway network. These green corridors are now designated cycleways.

The Ratho Centre, to the west, is Scotland’s national climbing centre; while just to the south of the city, Hillend, Britain’s best dry ski slope, offers year round skiing.
Edinburgh is one of Scotland’s top golfing destinations. It has some 20 golf courses within its boundaries and is within easy reach of East Lothian with its many superb links.
