Discover Ardnamurchan - Scotland
Make sure you discover Ardnamurchan, the wild peninsula which ends at the most westerly point on the British mainland.
This rugged country has a special ambience of its own. Coloured by yellow flag iris and scented by bog myrtle it has constant variations of light and weather, curtaining or revealing the views to the islands of the west.
Ruined castles like Tioram and Mingarry stand by the sea’s edge, while dazzling little white beaches invite exploration. And in a landscape given over to nature, it’s no surprise that even scarce creatures such as pine marten are quite readily seen. They have even taken up voluntary residence in the Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre. Sanna Beach
