Majestic scenery, magnificent lochs and magical fishing make this a perfect angling centre. Salmon, trout, large pike and two of the best rainbow trout lochs in the country are amongst the jewels of the Trossachs.
With many inviting courses, including some superb heathland venues, the area has a host of golfing options.
Cycling
Great cycling country here – up to Strathyre via the old railway trackbed, through the woodlands of the Trossachs by Lochs Achray and Venachar, along the private road by Loch Katrine…plenty of choice all over the National Park.
Your adventure might be a guided canoe excursion to some of the secret places of Loch Lomond or a parachute jump over Stirling Castle. There’s a good choice in this scenic area.
Scotland’s most southerly Munro, Ben Lomond, beckons, as do the other big hills around Crianlarich and, of course, Arrrochar Alps. There are also plenty of low-level walks, especially in the woodlands by Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.
