Perthshire & Angus - Glens
Perthshire and Angus are well known for their wild and beautiful glens stretching deep into the hills.
Like the fingers of a hand the Angus glens of Isla, Prosen, Clova and Esk lead up into the Grampian mountains. Off the beaten track and good for wildlife, each glen has a strong individual character. Long established rights-of-way lead through them to Deeside in the north - though the high plateau lands are territory for experienced walkers only.
The Perthshire glens, with long ribbon-like lochs and forests of pine and birch, are equally spectacular. Hidden in the hills to the north of Aberfeldy is the entrancing Glen Lyon, Scotland’s longest enclosed glen.
