Highland Park Distillery

Highland Park is the most northerly distillery in the world and was founded in 1798 by a clergyman named Magnus Eunson, an illicit distiller, who hid his whisky in the pulpit of his church away from the eyes of the excise men. The distillery still malts its own barley using traditional floor malting and peat kilns, this features in the guided tour.The award winning Brand Heritage Centre boasts a state of the art multi-lingual visual presentation which gives all visitors an insight in to the history of Orkney as well as the distillery. The well-stocked gift shop has a wide range of quality goods at reasonable prices and the coffee shop offers light refreshments.

Opening Times

April – October, Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm July. Also Saturdays and Sundays 12 noon - 5pm in July, August and September. Tours every half-hour. Last tour 4pm. November – March: One tour at 2pm only. Shop open 1pm - 5pm Monday - Friday.
