Much of the character as a Victorian parkland estate is retained, with sweeping carriage drives, beautifully landscaped vistas, an original walled garden and the baronial styled Vogrie House.

As well as the natural attractions, facilities include: an adventure play area, containing a range of equipment suited to children of all ages and abilities, a 9 hole golf course and a Miniature Railway, run by the Esk Valley Model Engineering Society, throughout the summer on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, from 2 pm - 5 pm.
