Drum Castle Garden (NTS)

by Banchory

The combination of a 13th-century square tower, a fine Jacobean mansion house and the additions of Victorian lairds make Drum Castle - owned for 653 years by the Irvine family - unique among Scottish castles. It contains superb furniture and paintings. In the 16th-century chapel are a beautiful stained glass window and the Augsburg silver Madonna. In the walled garden, the Trust has created a fascinating garden of historic roses. There are two trails to enjoy, one through the Old Wood of Drum.

Children’s playground, small shop and tearoom.
