Rattray Head Lighthouse

This lighthouse, built in 1895, marked a particularly dangerous part of the east coast. Just half a mile offshore and accessible at low tide, it was the first to have its engine room and fog siren built into an offshore tower or plinth, with the lighthouse tower built on top.
