Ailsa Craig Lighthouse
Built on the north east foreland of this famous Firth of Clyde landmark the lighthouse was completed in 1886. It was one of the few lighthouses in Britain to rely until 1935 on carrier pigeons and bonfires to communicate with mainland in times of emergency.
