Canongate Church
This delightful Dutch-gabled church was completed in 1691. It is the church of both the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Edinburgh Castle. Military colours and standards brighten the interior. Many famous people are buried in the churchyard, including the economist Adam Smith, the poet Robert Fergusson, and Agnes Maclehose, a close friend of Robert Burns.
