Gladstone's Land (NTS)

Edinburgh

The building is the most important example of a 17th-century tenement building to survive in Edinburgh.

Completed in 1620, the six-storey building contains remarkable painted ceilings and was originally the home of a prosperous Edinburgh merchant, Thomas Gledstanes. The reconstructed shop booth displays replicas of 17th-century goods and the first floor of the house has been refurbished as a typical Edinburgh home of the period.

Opening Times

Good Friday to June and September and October, daily 10.00am – 5.00pm. July and August, daily 10.00am – 7.00pm.
