Sumburgh Head Lighthouse
Built in 1821 at the top of this 91m (300ft) high headland, this was Shetlands first lighthouse. It was also the site of one of the first radar stations of World War II. The keepers’ cottages are now let as self catering accommodation. There are good views of puffins from lighthouse access road through what is now an RSPB reserve.
