New Lanark Heritage Village

Lanark

Surrounded by native woodlands and close to the famous Falls of Clyde, this cotton mill village was founded in 1785 and became famous as the site of Robert Owen's model community. Now beautifully restored as both a living community and visitor attraction, the fascinating history of the village is interpreted in an award-winning Visitor Centre. Highlights include a magical dark ride called the 'New Millennium Experience' and the new show 'Annie McLeod's Story' in the recently restored School building.
