National Wallace Monument

Hillfoots Road, Causewayhead

It is impossible to visit Stirling without seeing the National Wallace Monument. The 220ft Victorian Gothic tower dominates the skyline and acts as a fitting tribute to Scotland's national hero, Sir William Wallace. Climb to the top and you'll experience one of the most stunning views in Scotland, from the Forth Bridges in the East to Ben Lomond in the West.

Step inside the monument and you step back in time 700 years. A ‘talking head' of William Wallace explains how he and his supporters outwitted the army of King Edward I of England, to set Scotland on the road to freedom.

Coffee house and gift shop.
