Tain Through Time
Tain
This unique visitor centre illustrates the turbulent history of an ancient burgh by a combination of audio-visual presentation, live acting, artefacts, photographs and documents, in a complex of three historical buildings.
Go into the medieval church where King James IV wrestled with his guilt over his fathers death, and find out what the church would have been like in pre-Reformation times. Watch the dramatic sound and light show in The Pilgrimage to learn the story of St. Duthac’s miracles and how the sanctuary was violated in horrible circumstances.
Visit the Museum to see the background to Tain’s remarkable history and mementos of life here over the last few centuries.
