Our exhibition traces the story of the islands’ communities from the arrival of the first human settlers, perhaps as early as 9000 years, until the beginning of the 17th century. The exhibition is illustrated with original objects, many from recent archaeological excavations, reconstruction drawings and photographs. April - September Monday – Saturday 10.00am - 5.30pm. October - March Tuesday-Friday 10.00am – 5.00pm and Saturday 10.00am – 1.00pm.

The Museum is located close to Stornoway town centre, on Francis Street. Car parking and disabled parking is available at the Museum. There is wheelchair access and a lift at the Museum.
