This spectacular island just off the Sutherland coast is one of the largest seabird colonies in north-west Europe. The place comes alive each summer as some 100,000 seabirds gather here to breed, including guillemots, razorbills, kittiwakes and small numbers of puffins on the cliffs. Opening Times

The ferry to Handa opens on Monday 2nd April 2012 and will stop on Saturday 1st September 2012.

Ferries to Handa run on demand (no need to book or reserve) from 9.30am until 5pm, with the last outward boat at 2pm. The ferry operates Monday to Saturday. There are no boats on a Sunday or in bad weather. For all enquiries related to the ferry, please phone the operators Roger (07780967800) or Paul (07775625890).

Pricing Details

Ferry prices are £12.50 for adults, £5 for 5-14 year olds and free for under 5's. The ticket price includes a 20% donation to the Scottish Wildlife Trust who manage the reserve.

Directions

Access to Handa by ferry from Tarbet, signposted off the A894. The junction for Tarbet is 3 miles north of Scourie, and 3 miles south of Laxford Bridge.
