Glenfiddich Fiddling Championships

The romantic locale of Blair Castle in Highland Perthshire is the setting for the annual Glenfiddich Fiddling Championships. They were established in 1989 with the aim to ‘encourage, stimulate and perpetuate the art of fiddle playing throughout the country’. Each year sees eight of the already accomplished finalists battle it out with a superb display of fiddle playing. They each give a recital that incorporates all of the different styles of composition, which always includes a set by one composer that changes annually.
